Lodge Belt Buckle
Pictured to the right is the design for our lodge belt buckle. Voting took place the night of April 11, where this design competed with five others, including one hastily drawn just before the voting took place. Once the chaotic process of voting-in which the suffrage of adult advisers was both granted and revoked over the course of two minutes-was over, discussion continued concerning the details of the buckle, such as the placement of certain features, and the material. One member proposed making it out of solid gold. In the end, no changes were made, despite the design failing to meet the Chief's self-imposed requirements of containing the letters "WWW" and a Fleur de Lis. It was decided that if those elements are indeed required for the belt buckle to be manufactured, they will be added on later as necessary.
Comparison with Online Polling
Interestingly, the LEC's decision did not line up with our online survey at all. As warned, the results did not influence the tastes of the voting LEC members. Out of the six people who answered the survey, three votes were cast for design #1, and the other three for design #2(pictured below), leaving none for the one destined to win. However, the poll was open for too short of a time to accurately survey the lodge's opinion.
